Vivo IPL 2021: Most hat-tricks in the history of IPL

It’s the IPL time of the year and the fans are gearing up to watch their favorite players hit the balls out of the park, scalp crucial wickets, and give us breath-taking action. Over the years, we have witnessed numerous achievements in the IPL or cricket in general, but a “Hat-trick” still leaves us in awe. The feat seems quite impossible but still many players have achieved it multiple times against all odds in IPL.

AMIT MISHRA

Amit Mishra holds the record for the most Hat-tricks in the IPL history. The Indian leg-spinner made his first hat-trick in the inaugural season of IPL, 2008, against Delhi Daredevils in Delhi. While playing for the Deccan Chargers, he had picked up the wickets of Ravi Teja, Pragyan Ojha, and RP Singh one by one, and was adjudged the man-of-the-match. He scored his second hattrick against KXIP in 2011 after removing Ryan McLaren, Mandeep Singh, and Ryan Harris. His third was when he was playing against Pune Warriors India in 2013, where he was again awarded the man-of-the-match title.

YUVRAJ SINGH     

He is an Indian all-rounder who has the second most hat-tricks in the IPL. Yuvraj scored his first hat-trick in 2009 against RCB picking up crucial wickets of Jacques Kallis, Uthappa, and Mark Boucher of RCB, and was adjudged the man of the match. His second hat-trick in 2009 Against DC won him another man of the match award. In this match, he had dismissed Herschelle Gibbs, Andrew Symonds, Venugopal Rao of which led to the collapse of the DC team. His match-winning performance led KXIP to an easy victory.

 SAM CURRAN

Samuel Matthew Curran is an English cricketer who had stepped into IPL in 2019. In 2019 he had played for KXIP and registered his first Hat-trick, making his maiden IPL season special. The match was against DC and he picked up the wickets of Harsha Patel, Kagiso Rabada, and Sandeep Lamichhane. After this, he became the third person to record a Hat-trick in KXIP. He has played a total of 23 matches, bowled 75 overs, and taken a total of 23 wickets in all IPL seasons.
