It is beneficial to begin exposing children to sports at a young age. You may already be aware of a handful of the ways that learning via athletics can enhance a child’s mental, social, and physical development as a parent. On the other hand, what will they remember for the rest of their lives?

To be a part of the squad, it takes more than just wearing the same outfit. Children must learn to rely on their teams and have teammates rely on them in order to survive in today’s culture. According to a survey, 55% of parents believe that their child’s participation in sports will improve their academic achievement and future employment chances. In addition, 80% of parents believe that sports taught their children discipline, motivation, and how to get along with others. Current research in child health and development backs up these claims.

The same study also states that adolescents who participate in sports are eight times more likely to be active physically at age 24 than those who do not. Physical exertion also provides instant psychological benefits that continue long after the athlete has retired.

Previous research has connected physical activity to better bone health, increased cardiorespiratory and muscular fitness, enhanced cardiovascular fitness, and a lower risk of cancer and diabetes. All of these health benefits could also lead to a happier life.
